History
Today’s Althoff Hotel am Schlossgarten was mentioned as a hotel for the first time in 1923. After its complete destruction in the last war, it took a long time before the conditions were right to reconstruct the hotel. Only in 1959 did an invitation to tender take place. 4 renowned architects took part in the competition, which architect Schmohl was able to decide in his favour. The hotel then opened its doors again for guests in 1962.
Since 1998 the Hotel am Schlossgarten has been a member of the Althoff Hotel & Gourmet Collection, which stands for a unique liaison of first-class hotel service and quality gastronomy. Located in the centre of Stuttgart, directly by the Königstraße and the Schlossgarten, the hotel is the ideal starting point for cultural excursions, shopping sprees and pleasurable outings.
The 106 rooms and suites - some with panoramic views of the historic Schlossgarten - are furnished in warm red and brown tones. The balcony of the largest suite, the 75 square metre Opern Suite (opera suite), offers a panoramic view over the rooftops of Stuttgart, the Schlosspark and the opera.
